In recognition of a $3 million gift by Merck and Company, Inc., the arts education center within the complex is named in Merck's honor. The "Merck Arts Education Center" will be a focal point for performing arts education of children in the greater Philadelphia region. Merck’s $3 million grant is in addition to a $500,000 gift made in 1996.
