RPAC is formed and receives $13 million gift
from Bell Atlantic
· · · On September 24, 1996, the Regional Performing Arts Center (RPAC) is formed to oversee construction and management of a new performing arts complex, along with future management of the Academy of Music. Nora Mead Brownell is hired as the first Executive Director of RPAC. Bell Atlantic Corporation presents RPAC with a $13 million gift.
