Street Fair
PIFA Street Fair Volunteers
The three-week Festival will crescendo on Saturday, April 30 when Broad Street will be closed from Chestnut to Lombard for the biggest street fair in recent Philadelphia history. Street performers and live music will make every block buzz, as strolling visitors enjoy food tents, artisan vendors and much more. The day culminates with thrilling French acrobatic performers flying high over the street, suspended from a crane.

What do Street Fair Volunteers do?

  • Staff the Information Kiosk or be a Roaming Ambassador.
  • Provide parking directions for visitors and vendors.
  • Registration—check-in/out volunteers, vendors and artists and escort them to their tents/stages.
  • Block Captains—event/production duties including artist support, safety and general PIFA staff support.
Street Fair Volunteers should be prepared to work alone or as part of a team. Please expect to stand or walk for extended periods of time.

Will training be provided?
Yes! In order to volunteer for PIFA, orientation attendance is mandatory. The orientation session will provide a more detailed overview of each job so you can be better informed about which Volunteer job is right for you.

What are the requirements for this role?
We are looking for friendly, outgoing individuals (18+ years of age) who enjoy working with the public and providing excellent customer service.

  • Strong communication skills are a must.
  • Knowledge of the immediate geographic area is a plus.
  • Be prepared to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Expect to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
While we hope to engage many volunteers, we may have more applicants than we have volunteer opportunities. Volunteers will be assigned based on their availability, skills, and expressed interests.
