• 11am: All saxophones (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone)
• Noon: All horns (trumpets, trombones)
• 1pm: Rhythm Section - all drummers, guitarists, basses (electric and string), pianists

Arrive Early
Please arrive 15 prior to your scheduled time. Music will be provided at the audition so there is no need to bring a prepared piece.

Group auditions only
All students within an instrumental section will audition at the same time. Music will be distributed during the group audition. Students should be prepared to read the printed score, improvise, and follow the directions of the conductor.

Grades 5 - 9 Only
The KCYJE is available to those students who are currently in grades 5 - 9. Ninth graders will be accepted provided that there are no conflicts with activities such as high school marching band, school shows, district festivals etc.

Please note: Students selected for the ensembles are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances.

The Kimmel Center Youth Jazz Ensemble introduces a professional-level musical experience to gifted young artists providing them the opportunity to train with accomplished jazz musicians and teachers and perform in the Kimmel Center and its concert halls. The ensemble also performs throughout the region as ambassadors for the Kimmel Center to the community.
