Teen Summer Arts Camp students share various pieces from their Pipe Organ repertoire. This dynamic showcase of student musicians follows their weeklong intensive technique and pedagogical instruction with talented guest and teaching artists. Don't miss this memorable recital by tomorrow's rising organ stars!

Choral & Vocal
Camp: June 18 – June 29
Auditions: May 5 | 1pm - 2:30pm
Application Deadline: April 27, 2012
 Audition Requirements: In a choral setting, applicants will be asked to sight-sing excerpts from two contrasting works selected by the conductor. They will also be asked to sing alone and with a small group.
Student Showcase Recital: Fri, June 29 | Noon | Perelman Theater
Join Teen Summer Arts Camp students as they showcase their repertoire with works spanning various styles and genres including musical theater. This dynamic showcase of student musicians follows their weeklong intensive training with teaching artists and guest vocalists in the study of vocal and choral techniques.

Jazz
Camp: July 2 – July 13
Auditions: May 12 | 12:30pm - 4pm
Audition Requirements: Applicants will be asked to play a blues scale, read excerpts of charts selected by the director in an ensemble setting.

Chamber Music
Camp: July 16 – July 27
Auditions: May 19 | 12:30pm - 4pm
Audition Requirements: Applicants will play passages of chamber works selected by the directors. They will also be asked to play a portion of a work they have studied privately. Skill level is advanced. Technique and musicianship will be assessed.

  3. Compose an essay, in 200 words or fewer, describing your artistic talent, performance experiences, and how your contributions will make the camp successful.

Camp Description


Jazz Camp
Student artists spend ten intense days developing their artistic and creative skills with highly respected teaching artists from the performing arts community. All sessions will be held in the Kimmel Center Mon - Fri from 10am - 4pm. The two-week arts sessions culminate with solo and ensemble demonstrations — "Moments of Sharing" — on Friday afternoons.

Pipe Organ Camp
Session Descriptions
  • Choral/Vocal (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study vocal technique, theory, diction, sight-singing and choral works spanning various styles, and genres including musical theatre.

  • Jazz (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study various styles of jazz music including Dixieland, Swing, Afro-Cuban and Contemporary and perform in large and small ensembles.

  • Chamber Music (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study various genres of chamber music in small and large ensemble settings.

  • Pipe Organ (ages 14 - 18)
    Students study various pieces from the Pipe Organ repertoire, along with technique and pedagogy; both one on one with instructor as well as in a group setting.

*Students applying for multiple camps are required to register for each camp separately. Please submit a form and pay the registration fee for each camp to which you apply.
