KODO takes its name from the Japanese characters for 'heartbeat,' the primal source of all rhythm. The beating of the great taiko drum will reverberate inside your chest. With percussion instruments of all sizes, the KODO drummers perform in an intricate choreography, an impressive display of physical prowess and subtle artistry. Inspired by ancient Japanese tradition and the rustic beauty of their sea-isle home, the music of KODO is powerful and sublime, festive and otherworldly. KODO is truly an exuberant celebration of life itself.
