Innovation StudioMay 10, 1876 — The Philadelphia Centennial Exposition
It is May 10, 1876, opening day of the Centennial celebration in Philadelphia. President Ulysses S. Grant is the guest of honor to America's first world's fair, as well as to the amazing 100th birthday party the nation is throwing for itself. In the midst of the opening festivities the President's foot slips on something.
Upon examination, he is confounded and confused by what he beholds!
What is this yellow and slippery peel? And where did it come from? Has anyone ever seen the like before?
It is a mystery. Indeed, a great Centennial mystery! Through the aisles of the largest exhibition hall in the world, past displays of unheard of wonder-machines like the telephone and typewriter, among the amazingly costumed guests from around the world, around the entire fair on a locomotive train, up on the Statue of Liberty Arm and Torch for a bird's eye view and eventually down to the Delaware River to a humble steam ship that has come all the way from the land of the yellow peeled fruit, President Grant leads the audience through a highly interactive, age appropriate, child friendly and uniquely entertaining romp of truly Centennial proportions as he strives to solve this slippery mystery.
