The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is proud to present ˇVOZ! Congreso, a collection of intimate evenings with some of the brightest Latino celebrities and intellectuals of our time. Don't miss this unique opportunity to engage in intriguing dialogues that both enlighten and entertain at Philadelphia's world-class performing arts center.

Join us for a screening of innovative filmmaker/professor Carolyn Brown's film (30 minutes) From the Fields: An American Journey, followed by a dynamic conversation with Brown and NBC Bay-Area news reporter Damian Trujillo. In 2012, Brown produced the film that explores Trujillo's life and career in the media. More than a simple 'biopic,' Brown's film traces Trujillo's journey, which was rooted in the agricultural experience but that eventually led to a path of greater opportunity—all the while challenging the conventional wisdom about Mexican-American immigrants. The duo will discuss Trujillo's beginnings as a farmworker in the Salinas Valley (a.k.a. the 'salad bowl'), his experiences as a journalist, and his role as host and producer of Comunidad Del Valle, the longest-running public affairs show in Northern California.
