Overview

Haydn: Quartet in D Major, Op. 20, No. 4
Ginastera: Quartet No. 1, Op. 20
Mozart: Clarinet Quintet in A Major, K. 581

A clean sweep of the major chamber music awards—the Coleman, Fischoff, Naumburg and Cleveland Quartet awards, plus an Avery Fisher Career Grant—launched the Miró Quartet into the first rank of chamber ensembles. Today, between stops at the Concertgebouw and Madrid's Palacio Real, the Miró partners with distinguished colleagues like Ricardo Morales, the principal clarinetist of the Philadelphia Orchestra whose 'utterly natural musical grace' (The New York Times) will shine in a performance of Mozart's sublime Clarinet Quintet in A Major.

Program length: 1 hour and 45 minutes
