Overview

Conductor Laureate Ignat Solzhenitsyn returns for one of Bartók's most popular works. You'll recognize Bartók's orchestral genius and why it was chosen to underscore the drama and suspense in films such as The Shining and Being John Malkovich. Following is an early Romantic favorite composed by Mendelssohn-- the 'Scottish' Symphony. Be escorted through pastures and ruins in a work that memorializes Mendelssohn's first tour of Britain.
