Sun-drenched by day, shimmering by night, the Kimmel Center inspires performers, audiences, our community and the world. What ignites the imagination most is the artistic brilliance of those who perform here and the shared commitment to the arts the Kimmel's warm and luminous presence represents.

We introduce audiences to the world's greatest performers through Kimmel Center Presents, the single largest programmer for our stages. We partner with outstanding resident companies to form a vibrant creative community and build a larger constituency for the performing arts. Our education programs nurture tomorrow's audiences and offer students an opportunity for their talents to shine. Free concerts and subsidized tickets attract diverse audiences who gather to explore a wide range of artistic possibilities.

From opening day festivities that drew thousands to programs that are attractive to the diverse communities we serve, the Kimmel Center has invigorated the cultural and civic life of the Philadelphia region. Each year, the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Academy of Music generate an estimated $153 million in annual spending and $9.5 million in tax revenue, and support over 3,000 jobs.

Our first few seasons have brought challenges too, from developing the infrastructure to manage our buildings and market our new programming, to scheduling events that balance old favorites with exciting new performers. Still, two-thirds of our budget was covered by earned income last year, and we are on track to increase the percentage of earned revenue next year, a stellar achievement among American performing arts centers at this young stage. Over 11,000 donors have joined with us to make the Kimmel Center an overwhelming success. We are confident we can reach our goal of generating an operating surplus, with contributed support, within the next three seasons.

The Kimmel Center brings the world to Philadelphia: innovative artists, enthusiastic audiences, eager students, curious visitors and anyone looking to be inspired by the performing arts. Thanks to the support of our donors, the Kimmel Center can continue to fulfill its artistic, community and civic mission. Together, we ensure that the Kimmel Center is a beacon of the arts to all.
