Comedian David Cross Brings His Stand-Up Routine to the Merriam Theater, October 20

OCTOBER 7, 2009

Presented by Kimmel Center Presents and Live Nation

Comedic genius and cultural critic David Cross brings his sardonic stand-up humor to the Merriam Theater stage on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 8pm, as part of his first U.S. comedic tour in the past five years. One of Comedy Central's "Top 100 Comedians of All Time," Cross delivers his "wicked wit" (Salt Lake Tribune) on stage, blending observational humor with left-wing politics as he takes aim at targets ranging from religion to ironic T-shirts. Philadelphia comedian Todd Glass will open the show.

The star and creative force behind Fox's Arrested Development and HBO's groundbreaking Mr. Show with Bob and David, Cross has established himself as a fixture in the world of alternative comedy and accrued a cult following, with appearances in films from Men in Black to Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. In August 2009 Cross published his first book, I Drink For A Reason, a collection of personal essays, satirical fiction and top-ten lists that display his highly intelligent, brutally honest and often confrontational humor.

Tickets for David Cross are $35 and can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at www.kimmelcenter.org, or at the Kimmel Center box office, open daily from 10am to 6pm and later on performance evenings. (Additional fees may apply.) For group sales call 215-790-5883.

A limited number of $10 community rush tickets will be available for this performance. Tickets go on sale the day of the event and can be purchased at the Merriam Theater box office beginning at 5:30pm prior to evening curtain time and 11:30am for matinees. Limit one ticket per person.
