Restaurant Associates Named Foodservice Provider For The Regional Performing Arts Center

In a press conference held today, Stephanie Naidoff, president of the Regional Performing Arts Center, announced Restaurant Associates would serve as the exclusive foodservice provider to the center scheduled to open December 14, 2001.
"We are thrilled to have a world-renowned foodservice provider such as Restaurant Associates join us as we seek to become a world-class facility providing the best in food and performing arts," said Naidoff.
Designed to be a "city within a city," the Regional Performing Arts Center will collaborate with Restaurant Associates to bring a mix of invention and good taste to dining areas throughout The Kimmel Center, including a stunning indoor/outdoor restaurant and lobby café, as well as places for one-of-a-kind special events in both The Kimmel Center and the Academy of Music.
"Our philosophy is that good food--much like the arts--enhances the quality of life when creatively and professionally presented," added Nick Valenti, president and CEO of Restaurant Associates.
Restaurant Associates is a division of Compass Group, the world's largest foodservice company, and operates the foodservice of more than 130 restaurants and a number of performing arts centers including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Lincoln Center, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Los Angeles Music Center, as well as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim and The Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
The Kimmel Center will join the venerable Academy of Music to become one of the nation's largest performing arts centers, the Regional Performing Arts Center. Housing Verizon Hall, a 2,500-seat, state-of-the-art concert hall and Perelman Theater, a 650-seat recital hall, the Viñoly-designed Kimmel Center will serve as a world-class landmark of architectural and cultural excellence.
