From the intimate Perelman Theater to the grand and breathtaking Verizon Hall, The Kimmel Center is quickly becoming Philadelphia’s hottest new venue for jazz, with both masters and rising stars appearing this fall.

Legendary jazz pianist Oscar Peterson kicked off The Kimmel Center’s jazz offerings, performing at the Season Premiere of Kimmel Center Presents September 29. Another legend, the 81-year-old Dave Brubeck, will continue the Kimmel Center Presents Jazz Masters series when he brings his quartet to Verizon Hall on Friday, October 25. Two more jazz masters, the multiple-Grammy-winning Nancy Wilson and Ramsey Lewis, will perform selections from their new CD Meant to Be on Friday, November 8.

For a cozier evening of Jazz Up Close, check out a performance in The Kimmel Center’s Perelman Theater. Trumpeter Terence Blanchard and pianist Jason Moran begin the series on Saturday, November 2. The versatile songstress Nnenna Freelon follows on Saturday, December 7.
