When legendary jazz patriarch Ellis Marsalis and sons Branford, Wynton, Delfeayo and Jason united for their first-ever tour as a family this past spring, the Kimmel Center was just one of five U.S. stops on their exclusive tour. Now, fans who missed their sold-out performance have a second chance to hear the first family of jazz in their Verizon Hall debut when NPR’s JazzSet with Dee Dee Bridgewater broadcasts the concert nationally in a special Father’s Day edition this Sunday, June 15.

The broadcast can be heard locally on Temple University Public Radio station WRTI (90.1 FM) at 7pm.

Ellis Marsalis and Sons, featuring Ellis on piano, brothers Branford on saxophone, Wynton on trumpet, Delfeayo on trombone, Jason on drums and bassist Reginal Veal, was recorded live in the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall on Sunday, March 2, 2003.

"This hall is truly magnificent," says host Dee Dee Bridgewater on the broadcast. "Branford calls it the best concert hall on the East Coast. And I think we’ve got the best band in the house."
