The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts will observe the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a special free performance on Thursday, January 15 at noon in the Kimmel Centerís Commonwealth Plaza.

There are no weather-related cancellations or changes to the schedule.

The Second Annual Kimmel Center Martin Luther King Tribute will feature performances by talented student musicians, including the Kimmel Center Youth Jazz Ensemble and the concert choir from the Philadelphia school districtís Girard Academic Music Program (GAMP). Students from the greater Philadelphia area will be invited to attend.

More than 300 middle school students participated in the Kimmel Centerís Martin Luther King Tribute in January 2003.

The Kimmel Center offers free performances on the Commonwealth Plaza stage every Wednesday at 6pm and every Saturday and Sunday at noon. For more information, visit online at www.kimmelcenter.org.
