Kennedy Center Honoree Itzhak Perlman at the Kimmel Center Sunday, January 25

Celebrated as a musical phenomenon, Itzhak Perlman has charmed and inspired audiences and students throughout the world. He made his Kimmel Center debut along with famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma and pianist Emanuel Ax at the Kimmel Center’s opening in December 2001. Perlman gave his first Verizon Hall recital in the spring of 2002.
Perlman will be accompanied by pianist Rohan DeSilva. The program will include Bach’s Sonata No.6 in G Major for Violin and Keyboard; Beethoven’s Sonata No. 7 in C Minor for Violin and Piano; and Debussy’s Sonata No. 3 in G Minor for Violin and Piano.
Kimmel Center Presents Wachovia Classics: Master Musicians features three separate series of concerts. Master Musicians: Strings continues with Hilary Hahn (February 22, 2004) and Anne-Sophie Mutter (April 18, 2004). Master Musicians: Piano continues with Alfred Brendel (March 26, 2004) and Murray Perahia (April 25, 2004). Master Musicians: Voice continues with Ben Heppner (March 7, 2004).
Tickets for the January 25 performance by Itzhak Perlman are $28, $33, $43, $53, $60, $68 & $81 and can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at www.kimmelcenter.org or at the Kimmel Center box office, open daily from 10am to 6pm and later on performance evenings. A limited number of $10 tickets will be available for every Kimmel Center Presents performance at the Kimmel Center. $10 tickets go on sale the day of the event and can be purchased at the Kimmel Center box office beginning at 5:30pm for evening performances and 11:30am for matinees. Limit one per person.
