The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Returns to the Verizon Hall Stage February 13
January 23, 2004

Amsterdam’s orchestral jewel The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra returns to the Kimmel Center for an encore performance Friday, February 13 at 8pm.

Soon after the Royal Concertgebouw’s establishment in 1888, the orchestra developed into one of the best orchestras in Europe. Granted the Royal status in 1988, the Royal Concertgebouw has made more than a thousand recordings and is regarded worldwide as one of the most prestigious symphony orchestras. While known for its unprecedented interpretation of the romantic repertoire, the orchestra earned equal acclaim for its performances of contemporary music under the direction of Riccardo Chailly. With an impressive history of chief conductors, including Willem Kes, Willem Mengelberg, Eduard van Beinum, Bernard Haitink, and Riccardo Chailly, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra continues to win the praises of critics and audiences alike. The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra made its Kimmel Center debut in 2002.

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will be led by guest conductor Herbert Blomstedt and will perform Symphony No.4 by Beethoven and Symphony No.4 by Tchaikovsky.

Tickets for the February 13 performance of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra are $32, $45, $58, $68, $78, $98 and $113.
