Kimmel Center, Inc. Now Taking Reservations for Spring 2004 Events
February 9, 2004

Kimmel Center, Inc. today announced the launch of its spring 2004 event booking season. Reservations are being taken for events in all venues of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and the Academy of Music.

Early February represents the traditional start of event planning for April, May and June functions. While Kimmel Center Presents and Resident Company performances keep the Kimmel Center and Academy of Music stages busy through the spring, dozens of dates are still available for graduations, spring awards ceremonies, luncheons, receptions and fundraising galas.

"If you’d like to hold an event in the same spectacular setting where the world’s greatest musicians play, this is the time to book it," said Kimmel Center, Inc. Vice President of Facility Sales Andi Stevenson. "We expect demand in general to be higher than last year because word is spreading that the Kimmel Center and Academy of Music have such beautiful and unique spaces for private events but there are still many dates available and this is prime time to reserve one."

Kimmel Center, Inc.’s second busiest event period, the 2003 December holiday party season, saw a major increase in activity over 2002. Holiday events nearly doubled, increasing by 87%, with most clients hosting events at the Kimmel Center for the first time. In addition to an aggressive advertising campaign, a major factor in the growth was the increased availability of the Dorrance H. Hamilton Garden, recently renovated and now open for rental twice as much as in previous seasons.

Kimmel Center, Inc. sells 14 rental spaces throughout the Kimmel Center and the Academy of Music and can accommodate events for 25 to 3,000 patrons. For more information, or to set up an appointment with a sales manager, call 215-790-5853.

In keeping with its purpose as an accessible community resource, Kimmel Center, Inc. offers reduced rates for non-profit organizations.
