Tickets on Sale August 16 for Kimmel Center Presents 2004-2005 Events
New Additions to Season Lineup Include Shen Wei Dance Arts, China Philharmonic Orchestra, Holiday Shows, Plus Performances by Bruce Hornsby, Johnny Mathis, Joshua Redman, Branford Marsalis, Jane Monheit and Michael Feinstein

Single tickets go on sale Monday, August 16 for all Kimmel Center Presents 2004-2005 season performances and events. The Kimmel Center’s fourth season of programming features 80 performances in Verizon Hall and the Perelman Theater. Highlights include a season-long celebration of Russian music, five of the world’s great orchestras, a tribute to Philadelphia’s John Coltrane and “a year of incredible sax.”

Since the new season was announced last spring, several performances have been added to the 2004-2005 lineup including: three performances by the critically acclaimed Shen Wei Dance Arts, presented in conjunction with the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and the Philly Fringe (September 16-18); a jazz double bill featuring Branford Marsalis and Joshua Redman (November 3); an evening of cabaret with Michael Feinstein and Jane Monheit (November 5); Bruce Hornsby (November 6); the multi-media Colonial Holiday (December 17); Cantors: A Faith in Song (December 19); the China Philharmonic Orchestra (March 9, 2005); Johnny Mathis (May 15, 2005); and Musical Visions, conducted by Jeri Lynne Johnson with visuals by Peggy Gyulai.

Other highlights of the new season include a rare performance by legendary jazz innovator and composer Ornette Coleman; Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, one of the world’s reigning sopranos; plus performances by Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma, Hélène Grimaud, Sir James Galway, Little Jimmy Scott, Dianne Reeves, Sonny Rollins, Danilo Perez, Dave Brubeck, Marian McPartland, Herbie Hancock, k.d. lang, The Chieftains, Kodo Drummers, Blind Boys of Alabama, Peter, Paul & Mary, Ravi and Anoushka Shankar, Tom Chapin, Urban Tap, Noche Flamenca, Philadanco and the orchestras of St. Petersburg, New York, Oslo, Kirov and Chicago. Artists with Philadelphia connections include Lang Lang, Gary Bartz, McCoy Tyner, Bootsie Barnes, Michael Brecker, Terrell Stafford, Tim Warfield, André Watts, Bobby McFerrin, Jerry Blavat, Ed Simon and Diane Monroe.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at www.kimmelcenter.org or at the Kimmel Center box office, open daily from 10am to 6pm and later on performance evenings. Ticket buyers can save 10% by purchasing three or more concerts. For group sales call 215-790-5883.

A limited number of $10 tickets will be available for every Kimmel Center Presents performance. $10 tickets go on sale the day of the event and can be purchased at the Kimmel Center box office beginning at 5:30pm for evening performances and 11:30am for matinees. Limit one per person.
