"Steamy, raucous and wonderfully raw" —The Express
"Sex on long, long legs" — The Times

The tango, known as a dance of love and seduction, takes center stage at Verizon Hall on October 3, 2004 with Tango Pasión. This show is only one of six North American engagements at which the exhilarating Argentine dance musical will present one hundred years of the tango in one rousing performance. Tango Pasión, which has been thrilling audiences on four continents since 1992, will be accompanied by the world-renowned, 2003 Latin Grammy Award-winning orchestra Sexteto Mayor.

Tango Pasión has played to standing ovations at sold-out houses in more than 30 countries including: the Lyric Theatre in London; the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris; the Kremlin Theatre in Moscow; the Acropolis in Athens, Greece; and the Longacre Theatre on Broadway in New York.

THE CAST:
Dancers: Monica Romero & Omar Ocampo; Graciela Calo & Claudio Orso; Osvaldo Ciliento & Graciela Garcia; Juan Corvalan & Viviana Laguzzi; Claudia Diaz & Alberto Morra; Viviana Fortino & Omar Mazzei; Silvana Allievi & Fernando Rodriguez; Singer: Guillermo Galvé

The tango was born more than one hundred years ago in the brothels of Buenos Aires, and only became a socially acceptable ballroom dance at the turn of the century. The dance swept the world in the 1920s due, in part, to the songs of the legendary Carlos Gardel and Rudolph Valentino’s smoldering tango scene in the film The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Tickets for the October 3 performance by Tango Pasión are $30, $40, $50, $60, $68 and can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at www.kimmelcenter.org, or at the Kimmel Center box office, open daily from 10am to 6pm and later on performance evenings. For group sales call 215-790-5883.
