Philadanco's D/2 celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. on the Plaza stage Friday, January 14 at Noon.

WHERE: The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Commonwealth Plaza, Broad & Spruce Streets

WHO: Hosted by Kimmel Center President and CEO Janice Price and Vice President for Programming Mervon Mehta with guest speaker President Judge Frederica Messiah Jackson plus 100 student singers, dancers and musicians

WHAT: The Kimmel Center’s Third Annual Martin Luther King, Jr.Tribute, held on Dr. King’s birthday, will feature performances by more than 100 talented young singers, dancers and musicians including The Kimmel Center Youth Jazz Ensembles, the choir from the Philadelphia school district’s Girard Academic Music Program (GAMP) and D/2, the apprentice company of PHILADANCO, one of the Kimmel Center’s Resident Companies. An additional 200 students from local middle and high schools will attend. The hour-long performance, held in the Kimmel Center’s Commonwealth Plaza, is free and open to the public.
