The award-winning Beatles tribute show “The Beatles Experience” as performed by RAIN, will make its Philadelphia premiere at the Academy of Music January 19 – 22, 2006. The production is a new addition to Kimmel Center Presents Broadway at the Academy series. Tickets will go on sale Monday, August 15.

Ticket prices range from $34 to $49. Performances are Thursday, Jan. 19 and Friday, Jan. 20 evenings at 8pm. Tickets can be purchased beginning August 15 by calling 215-731-3333, online, or at the Kimmel Center box office (open daily 10 am to 6 pm and later on performance evenings) or at the Academy of Music box office on performance afternoons and evenings only.

In a show the Denver Post calls “the next best thing to seeing the Beatles,” “The Beatles Experience” boasts a song list of nearly 200 Beatlemania favorites, ranging from beloved ballads like “Let It Be” and “Hey Jude” to classic hits including “Revolution,” “Come Together” and “Can’t Buy Me Love.”

For the four longtime band members, the music is first and foremost. RAIN distinguishes themselves in their attention to detail, with the ultimate goal of delivering a perfect note-for-note performance. All the music is performed live, with no pre-recorded tapes or sequences.

The Oregonian says, "The band contains better musicians than the Beatles – but then, they'd almost have to be in order to recreate so well the sound."

“The Beatles Experience” is a multi-media, multi-dimensional production featuring set and costume changes, video screens and live camera projection, combining television commercials and historical video footage from the '60s. Live video technology provides views of the band through close ups and different angles, as members of the audience are projected onto the main screens for a completely interactive experience.

Broadway at the Academy 2005/2006 subscription packages are on sale now and will feature four spectacular family musicals including Doctor Dolittle (Sept. 21 – 25); Annie (Nov. 22- 27); Wicked (beginning March 22, 2006); and Disney’s The Lion King (beginning June 8, 2006). Single tickets for Doctor Dolittle are also on sale beginning August 15.

All performances of 2005-2006 Kimmel Center Presents Broadway at the Academy are supported by the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company. American Airlines is the Official Airline of Broadway at the Academy.
