Tony Bennett has achieved acclaim from critics and colleagues alike for his distinct domination of the American songbook. A twelve-time Grammy award winner and recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Mr. Bennett continues to demonstrate his ability to bridge the generation gap, performing classics with a rare sense of timelessness and nuance. Mr. Bennett does not remain solely behind the microphone, but has also experimented in his own lyric-writing. Mr. Bennett’s November 2004 CD, The Art of Romance, marks the debut of Tony Bennett’s work as a lyricist, and proves that Mr. Bennett’s talent spreads well beyond his sultry voice.

In addition to lyric writing and singing, Mr. Bennett is also a dedicated and renowned painter, whose works have been exhibited around the world, including the Butler Institute of American Art and the National Arts Club in New York.

After over five decades of studio recordings and tours, Tony Bennett remains “. . .the best singer in the business,” as Frank Sinatra once stated. Tony Bennett’s magic, according to the New York Times, is dependent on his acute sense of artistry. “The repertory is indeed classic. . .But perhaps more important is his ability to convey a sense of joy, of utter satisfaction, in what he is doing.”

Tickets for An Evening With Tony Bennett on September 15 are priced at $111, $91, $86, $76, $66 and $51, and can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online, or at the Kimmel Center box office, open daily from 10am to 6pm and later on performance evenings.
