Kimmel Center's Cadillac Broadway at the Academy Series Reaches Subscription Milestone
September 21, 2005

10,000 Subscribers Sign On For 2005/06 Season

Kimmel Center’s Cadillac Broadway at the Academy today announced the achievement of a significant milestone in its history. In three short years, the series has now signed on more than 10,000 subscribers for its 2005/06 season for the first time in its history.

“We have achieved so many milestones with our Broadway at the Academy Series in such a short period of time, including the recent addition of Cadillac as our title sponsor this season, as well as topping 10,000 subscribers,” said Kimmel Center President and CEO Janice Price. “The renovations we have made at the Academy have allowed us to put our best foot forward to the public and to bring in the larger touring showings such as Lion King, Wicked and Dr. Dolittle.”

“I am delighted that in so short a span of time both the Philadelphia community and our theatrical producing partners, including those involved with Disney’s Lion King and Wicked, have embraced our presentations at the historic Academy so fully,” said Kimmel Center, Inc. Director of Theatrical Presentations Jordan Fiksenbaum. “Our community programs, such as our Kids Club, have clearly engendered a continued and growing affinity toward the series.”

The new 2005/06 Cadillac Broadway at the Academy subscription season includes: Doctor Dolittle (Sept. 21 - 25, 2005); Annie (November 22 - 27, 2005); Wicked (March 22 – April 9) and Disney’s The Lion King (limited engagement begins June 8, 2006; subscribers’ week June 13 - 18).

The Broadway at the Academy Kids Club allows young subscribers additional discounts and seat selection privileges for select performances. Young theater-goers will also receive a free Broadway Kids Club t-shirt, certificate, and invitations to special events such as themed dinners, cast meet and greets, and other exciting offers.

Single tickets for Dr. Dolittle, Annie, and Wicked can be purchased by calling 215-731-3333, online, or at the Kimmel Center box office (open daily 10am to 6pm and later on performance evenings) or at the Academy of Music box office on performance afternoons and evenings only.

All performances of 2005/2006 Kimmel Center Presents Cadillac Broadway at the Academy are supported by Cadillac, the Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company, WPVI-TV, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Daily News. American Airlines is the Official Airline of Broadway at the Academy.
