October 7, 2005

Pianist and Music Educator Jeffrey Siegel Explores Beethoven as Part of the Kimmel Center Monday’s at the Merck Adult Education Classes

Kimmel Center Presents hosts the first of three Keyboard Conversations© with Jeffrey Siegel concerts led by internationally acclaimed pianist and music educator Jeffrey Siegel on Monday, November 7, 2005 at 7:30pm in Perelman Theater, as a highlight of the Kimmel Center’s ongoing Monday’s at the Merck adult education classes. The Power and Passion of Beethoven performance will look at “Für Elise” and the muse behind this poetic and legendary Beethoven composition. Siegel will also explore the “Moonlight” sonata to see how the composer purposely created a shocking, revolutionary work, as well as the “Les Adieux” sonata, inspired by the departure of a very special person from Beethoven’s life.

The second concert in the series is There’s More to Mozart Than Amadeus on February 20 at 7:30pm. The series concludes with Sensuous Sonorities of Chopin on March 20 at 7:30pm.
