This holiday season, Kimmel Center Presents offers a variety of performances with something for everyone and a diverse line-up of shows this December for the entire family. The season kicks off the family fun with the return of A Colonial Holiday on December 8 and 9 in Perelman Theater at 7:30pm The holiday spirit continues with the Vienna Choir Boys on December 10 at 3pm in Verizon Hall. Later that night at 7:30pm in Perelman Theater Jane Monheit will perform selections from her holiday-themed album, The Season. The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis brings Duke Ellington’s Harlem Nutcracker to Verizon Hall on December 11 at 8pm. Yuletide cheer is back with Philadanco’s Xmas Philes in Perelman Theater on December 16 at 7:30 pm and December 17 & 18 at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. Jerry Blavat ‘The Geator” wraps it all up with A Very Geator Christmas featuring special guest Al Martino and more on December 22 at 8pm in Verizon Hall.

The holiday season begins with Marc Mostovoy’s A Colonial Holiday on December 8 and 9 at 7:30pm and brings families back in time on a journey to 1776 Colonial Philadelphia with a performance that includes a 20-piece orchestra, a children’s choir, soloists and multimedia visuals to help make the era come to life. This year’s concert will include special focus on Ben Franklin to celebrate his 300th birthday. A real, working glass armonica will be on hand so that Mr. Franklin can demonstrate his unique musical talents. Tickets are priced at $46 and $36.
The world-renowned Vienna Choir Boys, with their 500-year tradition of musical excellence, return to Verizon Hall on Saturday, December 10, at 3:00 pm for their fifth annual visit in a performance of traditional holiday favorites. A perennial Kimmel Center favorite, this special holiday program will include works by Mozart, Beethoven, Faure and others, as well as holiday favorites such as Away in a Manger, Deck the Hall, Do You Hear What I Hear, and Let It Snow! and more, as only the Vienna Choir Boys can perform. Tickets are priced at $81, $71, $61, $51 and $37.
Jazz vocal sensation Jane Monheit returns to the Kimmel Center for one performance on Saturday, December 10 at 7:30pm. Monheit will be performing selections from her first ever holiday-themed album The Season. Tickets are priced at $54 and $46. Pulitzer Prize-winning musician, composer and educator Wynton Marsalis leads The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra in a performance of Duke Ellington’s Harlem Nutcracker on December 11 at 8:00pm. Classical meets jazz in this irresistible holiday tribute by the Duke to the beloved music of Tchaikovsky. In it, Ellington re-imagines The Nutcracker in the jazz idiom, turning the Sugar Plum Fairy into the Sugar Rum Cherry. Tickets are priced at $81, $71, $56, $46 and $41.
Philadanco performs Xmas Philes, December 16-18, 2005, in Perelman Theater. This program of Yuletide cheer and a holiday favorite, choreographed by Daniel Ezralow, has not been seen in Philadelphia since 2001. Xmas Philes is a tapestry of holiday music, mixing traditional and contemporary versions of holiday classics in a modern dance setting, including "Silent Night" and "Zat You, Santa Claus?" The program will also include Pulse, a company and Philadelphia premiere, also by Ezralow, and La Valse, choreographed to the music of Ravel by Gene Hill Sagan and reconstructed by Kim Bears. Daniel Ezralow’s Xmas Philes was commissioned in 2001 by Dance Affiliates and Penn Presents as part of their annual Dance Celebration program at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are priced at $46 and $34.
Philadelphia institution Jerry Blavat wraps it all up with his first ever Kimmel Christmas show, A Very Geator Christmas, featuring Al Martino on December 22 at 8:00pm. Martino’s hits include “Volaré,” and “Spanish Eyes.” He appeared in Francis Ford Coppola’s films The Godfather and The Godfather III as singing idol Johnny Fontaine. Also appearing on the bill is Johnny Maestro and Brooklyn Bridge. Tickets are priced at $81, $71, $56, $46 and $41.

A limited number of $10 tickets are available for every Kimmel Center Presents performances at the Kimmel Center. Tickets go on sale the day of the event and can be purchased the 2.5 hours prior to evening performances and 11:30am for matinees.
