Paco Peña, a native of the Andalucian city of Córdoba, embodies both authenticity and innovation in flamenco. As a guitarist, composer, dramatist, producer, and artistic mentor he has transformed perceptions of this archetypal Spanish art form. An artist of international acclaim, he created the longest-ever run flamenco show in London’s West End and was judged Best Flamenco Guitarist of the Year for five consecutive years by the readers of America’s Guitar magazine. In 1997 he was named Oficial de la Cruz de la Orden del Merito Civil, an honor bestowed by King Juan Carlos of Spain. Although he is now based in London he still spends a significant part of the year in his native Andalucia.
