Maxim Vengerov began studying the violin when he was four because it reminded him of his mother’s voice. By the time he was ten, his musical talent was recognized when he won the Junior Wieniawski Competition in Poland. Recital engagements in Moscow and Leningrad followed, and he was soon appearing as a concert soloist with such well-known orchestras as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic and the USSR State Symphony Orchestra. In 1995 his recording of the Prokofiev and Shostakovich violin concertos won Gramophone awards in the "Best Record of the Year" and the "Best Concerto Recording" categories, later also garnering two Grammy nominations and an Edison award. Most of his numerous recordings made in the following years also received similar awards.

Mr. Vengerov has received international acclaim during various tours throughout Europe, the United States, and Asian countries such as Japan, China, Singapore, Korea, and once in Australia. He has toured with the Israel Philharmonic with Zubin Mehta across the United States, played with Mstislav Rostropovich of the London Symphony Orchestra; and Daniel Barenboim of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, among other musical greats. Vengerov regards Daniel Barenboim as his "musical uncle" who pushed him to discover new interpretive meaning in various musical scores; and Rostropovich as his “Musical Grandfather,” who also influenced his musical development and recorded with Vengerov the Prokofiev and Shostakovich violin concerti. His reputation is of the highest level, and he also has a talent for teaching. When he was sixteen years-old, he taught his first master-class at UCLA in Los Angeles; Since then, he has continued to dedicate time toward cultivating students with musical talents, and has served as Professor of Violin at Saarbrucken University in Germany in September 2000 to 2005.

Lilya Zilberstein's international success came about in 1987 when she won First Prize in the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy. Since then she has toured Italy and has given concerts in the United States, Germany, Austria and France. After performing in Japan, Ms. Zilberstein made her UK debut with the London Symphony Orchestra in 1994. She has also made many recordings including solo piano works by Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Brahms, Liszt, Schubert, Mussorgsky, Taneyev and Medtner.
