Kimmel Center, Inc. Announces Four New Board Members

William P. Hankowsky, Chairman of Kimmel Center, Inc., today announced the appointment of several new members of the Kimmel Center’s Board of Directors.
"On behalf of the entire Board of Directors of Kimmel Center, Inc., I am delighted to welcome each of these four new members to the Board," said Chairman William P. Hankowsky. "I know each brings a wealth of enthusiasm and resources to the Center which I know will be of invaluable assistance as we move toward the future. Kimmel Center turned five this year and continues to provide quality and diverse programming to the community and we look forward to extending that mission in the years to come with these new members of the Board."
The new members are:
Lisa Crutchfield serves as Vice President of Regulatory and External Affairs for PECO Energy. In this role she is responsible for managing the company’s regulatory governmental affairs, economic development and external affairs divisions. She came to this role after spending more than fifteen years in the utility industry, serving as an executive for Duke Energy Corporation and as Vice President of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
Ms. Crutchfield is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Business School. She has served on the board of directors for a number of entities, including TRANSLink Development Corporation, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Carolinas HealthCare System, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, the Museum of The New South, American Association of Blacks in Energy, the United Way of Central Carolinas, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Johanna McNeil Lewis is a fine arts consultant. She advises private collectors on the acquisition and sale of American paintings, focusing primarily on Bucks County Impressionism. After college, she worked at Christie, Manson and Woods International, Inc., a premiere auction house in New York City where she was responsible for all aspects of producing illustrated catalogs and organizing sales in the American Paintings department. Before she left the company in 1985, she was in charge of handling high profile clients in all aspects of sale in the Special Client Services Department. Ms. Lewis received a bachelor’s degree in Art and Archaeology from Princeton University and was a former director of Princeton’s Graduate Board, Cap and Gown Club. Ms. Lewis is a Vice President of the Academy of Music, a Vice Chair of the Philadelphia Zoo Board, a member of the Board of Directors of the Barra Foundation, Inc., which her father, Robert L. McNeil, Jr., founded to support arts, education, health care and human services organizations in Pennsylvania, and Board Chair of Acting Without Borders, a theater workshop for disabled teens and young adults.
Stephen A. Madva is a partner and chairman of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads, LLP. Since 1989, he has been a member of the firm's management committee. From 1996-2002 he served as chair of the Litigation Department which, with more than 100 lawyers, is considered one of the area's deepest and most sophisticated. He has been responsible, at various times, for the hiring, retention and promotion of the firm's lawyers, for business development, for strategic planning and for acquisitions. Although specializing in complex commercial, class action and mass tort litigation, Mr. Madva has tried hundreds of cases of all types, including those involving business disputes, product liability, bankruptcy, environmental, and criminal law. Mr. Madva also possesses considerable skill in the amicable resolution of matters. Representative clients include The Celotex Corporation, American Meter Company, Ferag-Americas, Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Rohm and Haas, and the AHP Settlement Trust. Having practiced for several years as a federal public defender in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Mr. Madva joined the firm in 1977.
Mr. Madva is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers. He lectures frequently regarding complex litigation and on trial practice generally. Mr. Madva contributes a significant amount of time to non-profits in the region. He is chairman of the board of directors of The Opera Company of Philadelphia and chairman of the board of governors of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Mr. Madva serves on the boards of the Kimmel Center, Inc., Community Legal Services, Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Police Athletic League, The Defender Association of Philadelphia and Central Philadelphia Development Corporation (CPDC). He has been included for many years in Who's Who in American Lawyers, Who's Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
Michael D. Zisman is Managing Director of Internet Capital Group (ICG), a leading Procurement Services Provider. Recently he was elected Chairman of the Board of after serving on the ICG board since 2004. Before retiring from IBM in 2004, Dr. Zisman was Vice President of corporate strategy and focused on IBM’s On Demand strategy. During 2001 and 2002, he worked in the IBM Storage Systems Group and in 2002 was General Manager of Storage Software, a new start-up within IBM. From 1997-2000, Dr. Zisman led IBM’s entry into the knowledge management market and distributed learning market. In 1995 and 1996, he was CEO of Lotus Development Corporation, a now wholly owned subsidiary of IBM. Prior to IBM’s acquisition of Lotus, Dr. Zisman was Senior Vice President of the Lotus Communications Group. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University, a master’s degree in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and a doctorate in decision sciences from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Zisman is a trustee of Lehigh University, a member of the Main Line Health Board of Governors, an overseer of the Penn School of Engineering and Applied Science, and member of the Advisory Board of the College of Engineering at Lehigh. He also serves on the Boards of ICG Commerce Holdings, Inc., Investor Force Holdings, Inc., and Metastorm, Inc.
Kimmel Center, Inc., a charitable, not-for-profit organization, owns, manages, supports and maintains The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, which includes Verizon Hall, Perelman Theater, Innovation Studio and the Merck Arts Education Center. Kimmel Center, Inc. also manages the Academy of Music, owned by the Philadelphia Orchestra Association.
