Lights up ... on community
At a time when some view art as a luxury, the Kimmel Center understands that music, theater, dance and performance of every variety are an essential part of who we are. That’s why the Kimmel Center continues to reach out to its neighbors in the tri-state area, to nourish communities, and to nurture excitement for the arts - whether in the audience, backstage, or in the classroom.
Lights up ... on growth
Over the past two years, the number of people who walked through the Kimmel Center doors for free and low-cost programs doubled. During that time, 21,000 people attended 97 different events and performances such as Friday Live! and the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. tribute.
In 2009-2010, 1,895 pre-school children
and their families came to the Kimmel Center for the Saturday morning program, Grow Up Great.
Lights up ... on the future

The Kimmel Center’s mission is to operate a world-class performing arts center that engages and serves a broad audience from throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.
