Marketing Internship

Department: Marketing

Duration:      20 hours per week
Reports to:    Institutional Marketing Manager

What you will learn and do:

The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center, Inc. Professional Development Marketing Internship Program is an individualized internship program based upon the participant’s diagnosed strengths and weaknesses. Hands-on training, shadowing, co-teaching, and supervising will be used to build mastery in all critical areas of operating a high-energy performing arts center. In this program, interns will be introduced to the many facets of the performing arts process, including audience research, understanding, and identifying sales trends, planning schedules, developing ideas, working with programmers and presenters, fulfilling commitments, and planning various communications strategies. During this time, we welcome students to apply who are studying other than marketing but are interested in the performing arts or non-profits.

 

What we require:

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and follow- up skills
  • Ability to learn other software programs
