INTERNATIONAL IRISH SUPERSTAR DANIEL O’DONNELL PERFORMS SONGS FROM NEW ALBUM BACK HOME AGAIN AT THE KIMMEL CENTER CAMPUS, MAY 23, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, March 23, 2017) –– International chart topper Daniel O’Donnell celebrates the release of his new CD/DVD Back Home Again at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts’ Academy of Music on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. O’Donnell has been featured in 12 PBS specials and has charted at least one new album every year since 1988, becoming the first artist in the history of the UK Artist Album Chart to do so.

“Daniel O’Donnell has been entertaining audiences worldwide for over 30 years,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “His genuine love of performing becomes infectious when he’s on stage, creating an unforgettable, enjoyable evening for all.”

Daniel O’Donnell began performing in the early 1980s, realizing quickly that all he wanted to do was sing.  He has broken multiple records and received many accolades, including an honorary MBE from Queen Elizabeth and various Lifetime Achievement and Entertainer of the Year awards.  O’Donnell has become an international superstar with 12 PBS specials, over 50 albums, has been featured on an array of music charts, and continues to be involved in philanthropic charitable causes.

Other upcoming programming on the Kimmel Center Campusincludes Broadway Up Close with Chita Rivera (June 3, 2017, Merriam Theater), Tedeschi Trucks Band (June 8 – 10, 2017, Merriam Theater), Diana Krall (June 23, 2017, Academy of Music), and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (June 24 – July 9, 2017, Perelman Theater).
