DREAM THEATER PRESENTS HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED

IMAGES, WORDS & BEYOND

25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

NOVEMBER 19, 2017

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, September 25, 2017) –– American Progressive rock band Dream Theater has announced the third and final leg of their “Images, Words & Beyond 25th Anniversary Tour,” which sees the pioneering group celebrating the 25th anniversary of their milestone RIAA gold-certified album, Images & Words.  The tour will stop at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts’ Merriam Theater on Sunday, November 19 at 8:00 p.m.  Like previous legs, the show will be presented as an An Evening with Dream Theater, with no opening act. The tour will feature an unparalleled live set of Images & Words in its entirety, along with fan favorites from their deep, widely acclaimed catalog.

“We are excited to welcome rock icons Dream Theater and their fans to our Cultural Campus to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of their chart-topping album,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.  “It is always a treat to watch bands continue to push their artistic boundaries for fans, and equally thrilling for us to host this historic tour.”

Formed in 1985, Dream Theater consists of John Petrucci (guitar), John Myung (bass), James LaBrie (vocals), Jordan Rudess (keyboards and continuum), and Mike Mangini (drums). The band is known for its member’s technical proficiency with their instruments and being one of the early progenitors of the progressive metal genre. Throughout their three decades together, Dream Theater has earned a loyal fan following as they continually redefine the parameters of hard rock and progressive heavy metal, overcome obstacles, and surpass critical expectations.

"We are so psyched to bring our Images, Words & Beyond tour to North America this fall!" said founding guitarist John Petrucci of the upcoming trek. "It's hard to believe that it's already been 25 years since Images was released! We've been having a blast playing those songs each night and sharing memories and stories from our time in the studio back in 1992. We know that this is such an important album to so many of our fans, both old and new, so we plan on making this a really special night by playing I&W in its entirety as well as breaking out some rare material, and a few of our latest tunes, in order to make this landmark evening complete. We hope to see all of you there! Don't miss it!"

Other featured upcoming performances at the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus include: Courtnee Roze: The Culture (October 26 - 28, 2017, SEI Innovation Studio), Michael McDonald (October 27, 2017, Merriam Theater), King Crimson (November 2 -3, 2017, Merriam Theater), Lindsey Stirling – Warmer in the Winter Tour (November 16, 2017, Academy of Music), and The National (December 4, 2017, Verizon Hall).
