FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, January 24, 2017) –– World-renowned vocal trio Il Volo will bring their recently launched tour, Una Notte Magica – A Tribute to Three Tenors, to Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for one-night-only on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. The three, young Italian tenors, Piero Barone, Ignazio Boshetto and Gianluca Ginoble, promise a night of music that fuses classical and pop influences with traditional Italian, Spanish and English songs, complemented by a full orchestra. Inspired by the iconic The Three Tenors, the evening will closely mimic Il Volo’s recent and captivating performance at the Piazza di Santa Croce in Florence, Italy.
“The three talented members of Il Volo produce a beautiful and mesmerizing sound that transports audiences back to a different place and time,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “This immensely talented group has truly revitalized opera by melding the genre with other styles.”
In just a few years, Il Volo has performed worldwide, released top-selling albums, toured with legendary songstress Barbra Streisand, appeared on HBO’s hit series Entourage, and taken the stage for four acclaimed PBS specials. The young artists now return to the United States for their latest tour, following their time at #1 on the Billboard Classical chart. The trio formed in 2009 as contestants on the Italian singing competition show, Ti Lascio una Canzone. Il Volo gained international success following their 2011 American Idol performance and winning multiple awards at the 2015 Sanremo Festival for their hit song Grande Amore, which now has over 76 million views on YouTube.
