FORMER VICE PRESIDENT AND UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA PROFESSOR JOE BIDEN BRINGS HIS AMERICAN PROMISE TOUR TO THE KIMMEL CENTER CAMPUS, NOVEMBER 15, 2017

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA, September 25, 2017) –– The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is honored to welcome Former Vice President Joe Biden as he embarks on a multi-city tour for his new book Promise Me, Dad: A Year of HopeJoe Biden: American Promise Tour will play the Academy of Music on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.  Each ticket includes a copy of Biden’s forthcoming memoir and all Price Level One VIP tickets will include a meet and greet and photo opportunity.

 

“Programming on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus continues to expand into groundbreaking territories, with some of the nation’s most powerful leaders,” said Anne Ewers, President and CEO of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.  “Former Vice President Joe Biden brings stories from his notable career, yet also family memories along with his unique methodology that many have found so comforting during trying times in our country.”

Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1942, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr., served as the 47th Vice President of the United States, alongside President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.  Beginning his career as an attorney and becoming a member of the Senate in 1972, Biden became the sixth-youngest senator in U.S. history.  His political career has spanned over 40 years.  Now, Biden will take on a new title, Professor. He will lead the Penn Biden Center for diplomacy, foreign policy, and national security as the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice professor at the University of Pennsylvania.  His new memoir, Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, available November 14, focuses on Biden’s life, including his time in office and the recent loss of his son, Beau Biden.
