BASED ON THE SUCCESSFUL BLOG AND BOOKS,

AUDIENCE MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO SUBMIT

THEIR OWN SECRETS DURING SHOW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, February 10, 2016) — The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts presents the live performance iteration of the hit blog and book, PostSecret: The Show, at the Perelman Theater on Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19. The performance, led by artist, curator and internet phenomenon Frank Warren, together with a team of theater professionals, will bravely bring to life the unheard of voices of PostSecret, one of the most popular online blogs in the world. PostSecret: The Show is a unique reminder to audiences that no matter what they may be facing, they are not alone. Audience members will be invited to anonymously share their own secrets in a PostSecret mailbox in the lobby.

“The fascinating thing about PostSecret’s crowd-sourced narrative is the innocence and raw emotion that is revealed when extracting personal information anonymously from people,” said Anne Ewers, President & CEO of the immel Center for the Performing Arts. “The stories depicted in this show are relatable in some way to each person in the audience, creating a personal experience for everyone involved.”

PostSecret: The Show, inspired from the PostSecret blog, five best-selling books, and an art exhibition in the Smithsonian, is a visual, auditory and emotional journey through the beauty and complication of our deepest fears, ambitions, and confessions. Led by three actors with the assistance of projected images and video, the audience will be guided through a crowd-sourced narrative from the never-before-seen sexual, sad, funny and controversial posts found on PostSecret.
