Our brand new Jazz Standards education program is off and running!
This new, free program began this week with two in-school performances and a concert at the Kimmel Center which kicks off a full year of weekly jazz curriculum in select schools, all led by a team of jazz experts. To bring jazz to students of all ages, we’ve partnered with Esperanza Academy, Bodine High School, and Rhodes Elementary.
Below are photos from this week’s activities!
The series began Wednesday morning with visits to Bodine High School (pictured) and Esperanza Academy.
Students from Rhodes Elementary gather with visiting musicians on Thursday.
Hundreds of students gathered in Perelman Theater Friday morning for the kick-off concert.
The big band musicians stopped to take questions from students.
