Disney's Fantasia Recorded by Philadelphia Orchestra?

Did you know the soundtrack to Disney’s Fantasia was recorded at Philadelphia’s Academy of Music in 1939 by The Philadelphia Orchestra?

 

Thanks to an established working relationship between the Orchestra’s on-hiatus conductor Leopold Stokowski and Walt Disney, the two selected music for the film, including Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours for the hippo ballerinas; Le Sacre du Printemps for the Tyrannosaurus rex, and more.
