Three Kings Day Activities at Kimmel Center

Posted by:  Kimmel Center on January 03, 2017

Celebrate Three Kings Day at the Kimmel Center with activities, piñatas, hot chocolate, and a piece of traditional “Rosca de Reyes” bread, which will be the largest one ever made in Philadelphia!

Recognized as the day newborn Jesus received gifts from the Three Wise Men, this celebration extends through Spain and Latin America every 6th of January. Festivities include baking Rosca de Reyes bread with a toy “baby Jesus” inside; displaying ones shoes in hopes gifts will be left from the Three Wise Men; and creating a delicious meal for one’s family.

Partnering with the Mexican Consulate and the Mexican Cultural Center for a reenactment of the story of the Three Wise Men, attending children will write letters and receive gifts in this night of family fun.
