Bio: Sheila Tousey is a writer, actress, director and producer with numerous film, television and theater credits to her name including co-starring with Val Kilmer and Sam Shepherd in Thunderheart and appearances in Signature Theater and Magic Theater’s Late Henry Moss by Sam Shepard; Marie in Joanne Akalaitis’ Woyzcek at the Public Theater and most recently, at the Guthrie Theater in Marsha Norman’s adaptation of Louise Erdrich’s Master Butchers Singing Club.  She was a Drama Desk Nominee for acting and produced the feature film Christmas In The Clouds.  Sheila was Artist-in-Residence at the Public Theater in 2006 and 2007. There, along with Maria Vail, and in collaboration with Sam Shepard, she adapted Bottle House, a play based on the short stories and poetry of Sam Shepard.  She was invited to continue developing the piece at Sundance Theater’s UCross, Wyoming playwrights retreat.  Sheila was also the first recipient of the Lloyd Richards Fellowship for Acting Teachers and was a guest artist at the Yale School of Drama in 2008. Sheila was also invited to New York Theater Workshops Dartmouth Retreat for playwrights in July, 2013 where she worked on Ghost Supper, a play commissioned by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Ghost Supper will be performed in NYC in 2014. Training: MFA, NYU Graduate Acting Program.
