More about Jazz4Freedom

Earlier in the pandemic, we expanded our signature Jazz4Freedom program and created a virtual residency for 4th-6th graders. Via Zoom, we asked students to find their voices and speak up about issues they care about; many talked about things they've seen in their neighborhoods or on the news recently, like homelessness, climate change, animal abuse, and racial injustice. Learn more about the residency here.

Ill Doots Performs on stage at World Cafe Live

#PhillyBeatz

Available in March

Do you know students in need of a creativity boost? Join our FREE #PhillyBeatz virtual field trip, featuring demonstrations and performances from professional artists, inspired by content created by talented young people in our residency classes.

#PhillyBeatz is our technology-based creativity celebration, now an 8-week virtual residency for 4th-6th graders. Using “Soundtrap for Education”, our teaching artists help students embrace creativity without the limitations of owning an instrument or having access to lessons. Beyond the musical tracks, we encourage kids to explore other forms of creativity - like dance, movement, spoken word, rap, and singing – and learn that creativity and the arts inspire us in other areas of our lives, too! Learn more about the residency program here.
