Overview

Philadelphia Sinfonia
Gary D. White, Music Director and Conductor

Featuring guest artists from Enchantment Theatre Company
Landis Smith, Artistic Director

Philadelphia Sinfonia presents a high-energy, exciting performance to wrap up its 19th concert season. The program will feature Tchaikovsky’s haunting Sixth Symphony (Pathetique) and the Russlan and Ludmilla Overture by Mikhail Glinka, as well as a performance by Philadelphia Sinfonia Players. Ending the program will be a spectacular multi-disciplinary performance of Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, a piece that was originally inspired by a Goethe poem of the same title, and made popular for a wide audience with its appearance in the Disney film Fantasia. Enchantment Theatre Company joins Philadelphia Sinfonia in a visual and musical rendering of this time-honored work.
