Elgar: Piano Quintet in A Minor, Op. 84

For decades the Takács Quartet has been acclaimed as one of the most eloquent ensembles in the string-quartet world. The musicians apply such expressive depth and technical refinement to everything they touch that you wouldn't think more than the Takács on one program would be necessary. But what's wrong with a little artistic icing on our chamber-music cake? For the second half of its annual PCMS concert appearance, the Takács will welcome Grammy Award-winning pianist Garrick Ohlsson, a favorite of audiences worldwide for his flawless technique, strong grasp of form and clean, non-romanticized performance style.

Program length: 1 hour and 50 minutes
