The School District of Philadelphia's All-City Jazz Festival comes to the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, presenting a free, day-long music event.
All 10 bands in the POPS in Schools All -City Jazz program, as well as the Kimmel Center’s Creative Music for Jazz Program, will perform ensemble and big band works.
Daytime Performance Schedule:
11:00am and 12:30pm: Jazz student showcase performances, Perelman Theater
2:00pm - 6:00pm: A variety of performances in Commonwealth Plaza by local student jazz groups, including high schools and universities
3:00pm and 5:00pm: Master Class sessions in jazz education led by leading jazz artists/professionals, Merck Education Center
This program is possible through a partnership between The School District of Philadelphia, The Philly POPS, Temple University, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.
