It's a dance party, it's a jam session,  it's a live show — and it always features the hottest talent on the scene! Sittin' In is the free, monthly jam session at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Blending edgy horns, choice vinyl, cutting edge MC's and soaring vocalists, each session is unique, led by a stellar lineup of guest hosts and their band of choice.

This month:

Their brand of music is a unique blend of genres ( that is intended to uplift and inspire, and has become the go-to band for visiting artists from the likes of Grammy Award winner Chrisette Michele to the awe-inspiring Frank McComb.  Individually, the members of Vertical Current have traveled throughout the world, performing and recording with an array of celebrated and award winning artists including Roberta Flack, John Legend, Jazmine Sullivan, Jill Scott, The Roots, and more.  Their first full-length project “Bright Side of Midnight” was released in the summer of 2014, and the band has been busy crafting fresh material for their next album.
