During difficult times it is always important to remember that America is a resilient nation. With this concert, we celebrate the notion of freedom and those who showed us the way. We will be exploring what freedom means and celebrating the sacrifices many have made so we can enjoy the freedom we have. We will be comforted by the knowledge that together we will figure out a way to maintain the values that we hold so dear and cherish. Patriotic songs, newly commissioned works, spirituals and music by William Grant Still, Bobby McFerrin and a collaboration with noted author and musician James McBride.
