Overview

Yannick Nézet-Séguin - Conductor
David Kim - Violin
Kimberly Fisher - Violin
Choong-Jin Chang - Viola
Hai-Ye Ni - Cello

Program
MacMillan - A Scotch Bestiary, for organ and orchestra
Handel - Selections from Water Music
Britten - Four Sea Interludes, from Peter Grimes

MacMillan’s organ concerto A Scotch Bestiary is a witty musical caricature of the personalities of a menagerie of characters. Yannick leads the Orchestra in a “best of” treasury of Handel’s sunny Water Music. Storm clouds gather over the North Sea as we conclude with Britten’s Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, the most famous of English operas.

These concerts are part of the Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ Experience, supported through a generous grant from the Wyncote Foundation.
