Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance, a leader in preparing students for careers as performers, educators, composers and researchers, presents its 17th Annual Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Concert. The three-time Grammy nominated Temple University Symphony Orchestra, renowned for its performance of both traditional symphonies and modern masterpieces, performs alongside five of Temple University’s acclaimed choirs. Under the batons of Andreas Delfs and Paul Rardin, they will perform Strauss’ epic tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra and Michael Tippett’s powerful secular oratorio A Child of Our Time.
Boyer College is pleased to honor Susan V. Carson with the 2018 Boyer College Tribute Award for her contributions to the music industry. Past recipients of the Boyer Tribute Award include Carole Haas Gravagno, Kenneth Gamble, The Honorable Edward G. Rendell, Alan Abel, Vera Wilson, Bill McGlaughlin, Al and Gabrielle Rinaldi, Charles Dutoit, the Theodore Presser Foundation, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Michael Greene, Luis Biava, Janet Yamron, Sonya Garfinkle, Eric Owens and Larry Magid.
