Overview

AN EVENING WITH KEALIʻI REICHEL

Legendary Hawaiian musician and Kumu Hula brings his award-winning music to Philadelphia for an intimate concert of traditional and contemporary music and dance.

Keali‘i Reichel has been at the forefront in the revival and perpetuation of Hawaiian culture. He is a world class performer, best-selling recording artist, multiple award-winning kumu hula, prolific composer, renowned chanter, choreographer, dancer, crafter, scholar and teacher. Over his 25-year career he has earned two Grammy nominations, 38 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards and been inducted in the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame.

Kealiʻi maintains his initial goal of presenting new compositions in the Hawaiian language, perpetuating his ancestorʻs teachings and dispelling long-held stereotypes of Hawai‘i’s living culture and her indigenous people.
